Auschwitz-Birkenau was the biggest Nazi Concentration Camp. It was also known as Auschwitz II so it was one of three camps at Auschwitz. It was constructed in October of 1941. This is were most lives were lost out of all of the Concentration camps. On an estimate 1,095,000 Jews were deported here and 960,000 Jews were killed. All people were treated terribly here but especially women. Women were raped and slaughter for all of the guards enjoyment. Auschwitz-Birkenau played a giant role of the German plan to wipe out the Jews of Europe. This camp had Four large crematorium buildings were constructed between March and June 1943. Each had three components: a disrobing area, a large gas chamber, and crematorium ovens. They continued to do this until the liberation of this camp in 1945.
