The first camp the was liberated was on July 23, 1944 during the final stages of the war. The Soviet soldiers were the first to start the liberation at Majdanek, a concentration camp located in Poland. The Soviet soldiers were also the ones who liberated Auschwitz on January 27, 1945. Other soldiers that also contributed to helping with the liberations were: British soldiers, Canadian soldiers, American soldiers, and French soldiers. British soldiers liberated Bergen-Belsen and the American soldiers liberated Buchenwald and Dachau. While all of the camps were being liberated, German soldiers would try and get rid of everything in the camps so that there was no evidence that this happened but there was still things left behind that are prove that this really happened.
